Richard Ashkar, a Subject matter Expert (SME) for Law Enforcement Use of Force has been training and instructing Law Enforcement and Military for over 15 years. He has instructed members of the FBI, NYPD, Camden County Police Department, New Jersey State Police, the NJSP TEAMS Unit, and countless local police officers on self-defense, control and de-escalation. His intensive seminars and classes are informational and exciting. His law enforcement experience, along with being the primary self-defense instructor for one of the largest agencies on the east coast, gives him a uniquely realistic perspective. Having worked in law enforcement for over 10 years along with working in some of the most dangerous cities in the country he knows how force options work in real time, as well as how dynamic situations can evolve in dangerous environments.
In Ashkar’s courses participants typically:

Richard Ashkar has over 21 years training in various martial arts and has competed at the highest level, having fought professionally for over 6 years in Mixed Martial Arts. Competing at that level has allowed him to develop a system of techniques that work real time while remaining in the lowest level of force options. It is proven that basics work at the highest level of sport and self-defense and that is why Ashkar teaches brilliance in the basics.

Kenneth Rayhon

A Subject Matter Expert, (SME) for Law Enforcement Use of Force has been instructing Law Enforcement for almost a decade. He is currently a Sergeant, and the Self-Defense Coordinator for one of the largest Law Enforcement Agencies on the East Coast. His primary responsibilities are to develop and implement recruit and sworn law enforcement officers training in every aspect as it pertains to Law Enforcement Use of Force.
Law Enforcement today is faced with split second life and death decisions, and they need to be trained that way. The training he provides blends self-defense skills with advanced communication skills, and a non-adversarial philosophy to ensure the safest and most effective ending to any confrontation. Having worked in some of the most dangerous cities in the country he has seen situations rapidly evolve. His experience in these cities has afforded him the knowledge to understand how difficult it can be to make a force decisions in dynamic situations. Kenneth Rayhon knows what tools Law Enforcement needs to get the job done.
He has trained members of the NJ Port Authority, NJ Department of Corrections, NJ Juvenile Justice Commission, NJ Department of Gaming Enforcement, NJ Department of Criminal Justice, New Jersey State Police and the NJSP TEAMS Unit on self-defense, control, and de-escalation.

Steven DeAngelis has been instructing Law Enforcement for five years. He has instructed members of the New Jersey State Police on self-defense, control, and de-escalation methods to reduce liability to the Law Enforcement Officer and suspect. He has worked in a variety of law enforcement settings on the local and state level. This experience has provided him with the experience and knowledge that use of force situations are dynamic. The knowledge and experience has provided him with techniques that have been proven in real time scenarios.

DeAngelis has over 16 years training in a various martial arts and has competed at the highest level. He has fought professionally for over 10 years in Mixed Martial Arts. DeAngelis has trained with world champions in Mixed Martial Arts gaining knowledge in different techniques. Competing at the highest level has enabled him to develop a system of techniques that work at a real time pace.
